Epidemiology
A benign tumor of vascular smooth muscle, typical of adults and common in the lower limbs. Pain with cold or pressure in a small mass of the lower limb can point to this benign diagnosis.
Basic features
It is usually a painful subcutaneous nodule, especially with pressure or temperature changes.
Usual treatment
Local excision is both diagnostic and therapeutic.
Outcomes and prognosis
The prognosis is excellent: removing the nodule usually resolves the pain that prompted the consultation straight away, and it rarely grows back in the same place.
