Soft-tissue tumors

Myopericytoma

Soft tissueBenignPericytic / perivascular tumours

Epidemiology

A rare perivascular tumor of adults, usually located superficially in the limbs. It is usually superficial and well defined, but its relationship to small vessels explains its vascular appearance on imaging.

Basic features

It presents as a small, sometimes painful nodule, with vascular enhancement on imaging.

Usual treatment

Local resection is the usual approach when there are symptoms or diagnostic uncertainty.

Outcomes and prognosis

Most cases behave in a benign way; recurrence and malignancy are exceptional.

This information is general and does not replace a medical evaluation. A musculoskeletal tumor must be interpreted together with imaging, physical examination, biopsy when appropriate and each patient's context.

Specialist evaluation

If you have a mass, a bone lesion or a report suggesting a tumor, book an evaluation.
