Epidemiology
A benign perivascular tumor, classically located under the nail, although it can appear at other sites. They are tiny and often go undiagnosed for years; when the pain concentrates on one exact spot, imaging aimed at that spot is what finds it.
Basic features
It causes intense pain, sensitivity to cold, and very localized pinpoint pain.
Usual treatment
Local excision usually resolves the symptoms when the tumor is located precisely.
Outcomes and prognosis
The prognosis is excellent; recurrence is usually related to incomplete resection or to multiple lesions.
